President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. toured his family around Malacañang as he pondered over what it felt like to be back in the country's seat of power after three decades.

In his first week as the new chief executive, Marcos said he made sure to attend his first flag ceremony to meet the palace's staff. He also presided over the first official meeting of the Cabinet officials.

"Nakakatawa nga yung pagbalik ko sa Palasyo, parang pangkaraniwan dahil matagal-tagal akong tumira doon. Ngunit kapag naisip ko nang mabuti, hindi pangkaraniwan talaga ito dahil nakabalik sa Palasyo, ako ay naging presidente na," Marcos said in a vlog post released Saturday evening.

"Kahit pareho lang yung aking ginagawa, iba ang pakiramdam," he added.

Marcos said being in Malacañang as president took him back to his childhood days, when he would watch his father, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., perform his duties as chief executive.

"Sabi ko siguro yan ang nakikita, parang yung tinitignan ko noong aking ama ang nagpapatakbo ng mga meeting at nagpapa-oathtaking," he added.

In one part of the vlog, Marcos was seen touring his children to different rooms in Malacañang, which served as his and siblings' bedrooms when they first lived in the palace.

"One of these days, kapag may oras, dadalhin ko sila, ikukwento ko. Bawat sulok ng Palasyo may kwento sa akin," he said.

Marcos took over Malacañang last June 30 hours after he was sworn-in as the 17th President of the Philippines. It also marked an important milestone in the resurgence of the Marcoses to power.

The president is currently in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 and is in stable condition.
