Presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. appealed to Filipinos to go out and vote on May 9 and rallied his supporters to guard their ballots from "theft."
The only son and namesake of the late dictator whose family plundered billions from the country's coffers called on his supporters to protect their vote come election day.
"Sa darating na Mayo 9 ay kailangan din po tayong maging mapagbantay sa ating mga boto. Protektahan po natin ang ating naging desisyon at 'wag po nating hayaan ito'y muling nakawin sa atin," Marcos Jr. said in a video message.

Marcos Jr. is the top pick for president based on the final pre-election survey of Pulse Asia with a wide margin against his political nemesis Leni Robredo, who defeated him in the 2016 vice presidential race.
The former senator who is preaching unity to restore his family's pride called on the public to exercise their right to vote even if they are in support of a different candidate.

"Gayunman, kung iba ang inyong napupusan ay hiling ko po rin sa inyo na sama-sama tayong pumunta sa ating mga presinto at bumoto. Kailangan natin makiisa sa halalan," he said.
"Ito'y sagrado natin pananagutan sa ating bayan sapagkat isang mahalagang sangkap ito ng proseso ng ating paghuhusga kung sino ang mamumuno pagkaraan ng piliin," he added.
Marcos Jr. is running with President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter and political heir Sara, who is also the top pick for vice president in the final pre-election survey of Pulse Asia.
