Cebu Archbishop Palma is COVID-19 Positive

Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma has tested positive for COVID-19, his office said Friday.

The Church leader is in stable condition and is under medical care at Perpetual Succour Hospital, the archdiocese said in a statement. "Let us all pray for his steady and speedy recovery," the Archbishop's Office said.

Close contacts of the prelate have already been informed of his diagnosis.

As of Thursday, the Philippines has confirmed 555, 163 total COVID-19 cases. Of this number 11,673 have died while 512,375 have recovered.
