President Rodrigo Duterte has approved September 13, 2021 as the opening date for academic year 2021-2022, the Department of Education (DepEd) said Friday.
The full academic calendar will be released soon. The President picked Sept. 13 from several options presented by DepEd Sec. Leonor Briones, the department said.
In 2020, classes started on October 5, four months later than the usual June school opening, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Classes in the basic level will still be done via blended learning, the department said earlier.
