LIST: Candidates for President, VP, Senator Who Made Comelec's Tentative List of Bets

The Commission on Elections on Friday released the tentative list of candidates for the 2022 elections.

From 97 in the first cut released on Oct. 29, the poll body narrowed down the number of presidential candidates to 15.

Here's the tentative list of candidates for president:

  • Abella, Ernie
  • Andes, Hilario
  • Arcega, Gerald
  • De Guzman, Leody
  • Domagoso, Isko Moreno
  • Gonzales, Norberto
  • Lacson, Ping
  • Lihaylihay, Danilo
  • Mangondato, Faisal
  • Marcos, Bongbong
  • Marcos, Maria Aurora
  • Montemayor, Jose Jr.
  • Niez, Edgar
  • Pacquiao, Manny Pacman
  • Robredo, Leni

The Comelec also trimmed down the number of vice presidential candidates to nine from the initial 28.

Here's the tentative list of candidates for vice president:

  • Atienza, Lito
  • Bello, Walden
  • David, Rizalito
  • Duterte, Sara
  • Lopez, Manny SD
  • Ong, Doc Willie
  • Pangilinan, Kiko
  • Serapio, Carlos
  • Sotto, Vicente

For senators, a total of 70 from the initial number of 174 made it into the tentative list. Security guard Phil Delos Reyes, who went viral for advocating workers' rights, did not make the cut.

The Comelec said the tentative list of candidates was based on the initial evaluation of the Certificates of Nomination, Certificates of Candidacy, and Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance.

The contents of the list are still subject to change upon further evaluation and resolution of the poll body, it added.

The final list of candidates for the 2022 elections was supposed to be released on Dec. 15, but it was postponed to a later date as the Comelec resolved pending nuisance candidate cases.
