The Dario Bridge U-turn slot in Quezon City will allow passage at a specific time following its reopening on Tuesday to ease traffic congestion, the MMDA said Wednesday.
Motorists can only make a U-turn from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. as it will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., “pending the installation of the proposed traffic signal lights in the area,” the advisory said.
Major U-turns in the city were previously closed to make way for the EDSA Bus Carousel. According to MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos, opening them would “improve traffic flow in the area.”
“I have requested BF Corporation to move back their fences at their work area to open more lanes for passing motorists and filled it with gravel so traffic obstruction could be avoided,” he said.
Abalos added that he coordinated with the private contractor of the Common Station connecting the Metro Rail Transit and Light Rail Transit, situated between SM North Edsa and Trinoma in Quezon City.
The MMDA is in constant coordination with pertinent government authorities and agencies to improve mobility in Metro Manila, he said.
