Beep Card Expired? Here's How to Extend Validity

You can extend validity for up to 90 days.

Commuters with expired beep cards can extend its validity for up to 90 days using machines in train stations.

For P10, cardholders can use beep card extenders found beside beep card machines beside beep card loading stations.

A beep card may last until 50,000 uses or up to four years, whichever comes first. If the card has a remaining balance of at least P10, the amount may be used to extend validity for at least 3 more months—enough time to use up any remaining large balances, transfer load to a new card, or just commute until the end of the day.

This extension fee is waived for holders ng concessionary cards like senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

According to beep, any remaining balance on an expired card can be transferred to a new card anytime within 12 months after the expiry date.

If a card expires today without extension, April 27, 2022, the holder has until April 27, 2023 to transfer the balance from the old card to the new card. Take note that a transfer fee of P150 will be charged. After the 12-month grace period, any remaining balance on the expired card will be forfeited.

In case you prefer to get a new card, you may purchase a new one in train stations for P30 or for P50 outside train stations.
