Government workers can ride the MRT, LRT-2, and PNR for free on Monday, Sept. 19, in celebration of the Philippine Civil Service anniversary, the Department of Transportation said Sunday.
Free MRT and LRT-2 rides can be availed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., while free PNR rides are available from its first until the last trip along its operational routes.
To avail for the free train rides, government employees only need to present their valid government IDs. Single journey tickets given for free MRT and LRT-2 need to be dropped in dedicated boxes at the exits of each station.
"Ito ay bilang pagkilala sa dedikasyon ng bawat kawani sa pagbibigay ng tapat at maayos na serbisyo publiko para sa kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino," the DOTr said.
