Fully-vaccinated people only need to show their valid vaccination cards to enter Siargao and the rest of Surigao del Norte, the provincial government said on Wednesday, as it moved to revive tourism in one of the country's surfing capitals.
The memorandum released by the provincial government defines being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as:
- More than or equal to two weeks after having received the second dose in a two-dose series
- More than or equal to two weeks after having received a single-dose vaccine
- The vaccines administered should be under emergency use authorization (EUA) issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or under the World Health Organization's (WHO) emergency use listing
Fully-vaccinated tourists who meet these requirements need to present their COVID-19 domestic vaccination card issued by legitimate vaccination centers.
Those who are not considered fully-vaccinated yet have to present a negative RT-PCR test or saliva test result that is no more than 48 hours old upon arrival.
Tourists are also required to submit these:
- Valid identification card
- Travel certification issued by the city mayor or municipality of destination within Surigao del Norte (for tourists invited by local residents)
- Confirmed booking of accommodation for at least two nights from the hotel, resort, or hostel accredited by the Department of Tourism (for walk-in tourists or those not invited by local residents)
