Globe said Friday it beat it rivals in terms of consistency and availability of services in the second quarter, based on data from ookla's Speedtest Intelligence.
Ayala-led Globe said it scored 79.44 in consistency and 93.11 in availability, making it the Philippines most reliable carrier for the said period, adding such is a rare feat for telcos.
“Being declared the Philippines’ Most Reliable Mobile Network is testament to the gains of our network buildup, which we have aggressively pursued over recent years,” said Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu.
Consistency and reliability matters to consumers especially at a time when telcos are transitioning to 5G from LTE, said Darius Delgado, head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.
During the first quarter, Globe said it built 234 new cell sites, upgraded 3,500 others, and installed 380 5G sites and 470,000 fiber-to-the-home lines.
