Kris Aquino said Sunday cyberbullies targetting her two sons could force her to take the direction her critics are "so obviously afraid I will take." Taking "that yellow brick road" is starting to look inviting, he said.
The youngest daughter of the late President Cory Aquino and younger sister of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was addressing posts on social media alleging that her eldest, Joshua, had sired a child and that her youngers, Bimb, is gay.
The bullying was clearly meant to "trigger" her, Aquino said.
Kris, who turned 50 last Valentine's Day, is the most visible of the Aquinos though her current stature is far from her heyday in the 2000s when she was a self-styled "Queen of All Media." She also exists in a new political environment where "yellow" is a pejorative.
"Leave my children alone and I will remain a private citizen. Continue messing with them then you are pushing me in the direction you are so obviously afraid I will take. That yellow brick road is starting to look very inviting now," she said in an Instagram post that got 50,000 likes in two hours.

Homophobia directed at her adolescent son, Bimb, has no place in 2021, Aquino said, comparing herself to a lioness protecting her cubs.
"I am not blind, and I am not stupid. In a span of a week, my children have been used to trigger me," she said.
