Leni Robredo's Office Gets Prank Deliveries Worth P100,000

One bill was worth P16,000, and COD.

Some P100,000 worth of grocery deliveries were sent to Vice President Leni Robredo's office on Monday in an apparent prank, her office said.

One of the receipts was for P16,000 from online grocery app Metromart, addressed to Robredo's office and for COD or cash on delivery, Robredo's spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said, sharing photos on Twitter as proof.

"May nagpanggap na si VP Leni at nag multiple orders ng abot P100K+ sa Metromart. Pinadeliver sa OVP na COD. Hindi na inisip ang mga delivery rider na hinassle at inaksaya ang oras. Ganito na ba talaga sila katakot sa atin? Dedma sa ganitong kacheapan. Laban lang!" he said.

Gutierrez said Robredo's office reached out to Metromart to cancel and return the items. Metromart confirmed it in a response to Gutierrez via Twitter.

"VP Leni gave the riders something to compensate them for the two hours they lost because of this scam," Gutierrez told reporters. They also asked Metromart not to penalize the delivery riders.
