Some P100,000 worth of grocery deliveries were sent to Vice President Leni Robredo's office on Monday in an apparent prank, her office said.
One of the receipts was for P16,000 from online grocery app Metromart, addressed to Robredo's office and for COD or cash on delivery, Robredo's spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said, sharing photos on Twitter as proof.
Laban lang!" he said.
Gutierrez said Robredo's office reached out to Metromart to cancel and return the items. Metromart confirmed it in a response to Gutierrez via Twitter.
"VP Leni gave the riders something to compensate them for the two hours they lost because of this scam," Gutierrez told reporters. They also asked Metromart not to penalize the delivery riders.
"We were able to get the number used to book the deliveries, and are investigating further."
