Vaccination cards are no longer required to be presented when taking public transportation or entering a mall in areas under Alert Level 1, the DILG said Thursday, as the economy reopens further with fewer COVID-19 cases.
A proof of vaccination is only required in 3C establishments, or confined, crowded, and close-contact places, as provided by recent IATF guidelines for Alert Level 1, Interior USec. Jonathan Malaya told ANC.
"I don't see public transportation as part of indoor establishments or the 3Cs that were determined by the IATF. So you don't need to present it at the ticket booth," he said.
"Vaccination card is [also] not required at the entrance of the mall. It's only required at the exact 3C establishment inside the mall, but not necessarily at the entrance of the mall," he added.
For example, a person may enter a mall without a vaccine card but a restaurant inside the mall will require it.
Even as vaccination cards are no longer required to be shown in many instances, Malaya urged the public to always bring theirs whenever going out.
"It would be practical to bring it because there are always be an instance when you would be required to present it," he said.
