All MRT-3 stations are now equipped with automatic and contactless temperature scanners which is part of management's effort to make COVID-19 contact tracing and thermal scans safer and more efficient for commuters.

A total of 15 stand-alone temperature scanners were positioned in all stations where an MRT-3 personnel assures that all passengers have a temperature below 37.8 degrees Celsius.

Right below the scanner is also an automatic alcohol dispenser which commuters can use to disinfect their hands.

Apart from making temperature scans safer for commuters, personnel will also minimize contact as they will no longer be handling the device.

The MRT-3 is currently on its soft-launch for its new contact tracing app called MRT-3 Trace, which was developed to hasten contact tracing in all MRT-3 stations.

Full launch is expected in February.
