The MRT will offer free rides in select times on Dec. 30 as the country commemorates Rizal Day, management said Tuesday.
Commuters can ride MRT-3 trains for free this Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
"Ang libreng sakay ay bilang pakikiisa ng pamunuan ng MRT-3 sa paggunita at pag-alala ng buong bansa sa kabayanihan ni Gat Jose Rizal," the management said in an advisory.
The first train from North Avenue station will leave at 4:40 a.m., while the first train from Taft Avenue station will leave at 5:26 a.m. The last train will leave the North Avenue station at 9:30 p.m. and Taft Avenue station at 10:16 p.m.
The MRT management reminded passengers to strictly follow COVID-19 health and safety protocols while riding the train. Wearing of face masks is also mandatory while inside the train while face shields are voluntary.
