Employees of the MVP Group who will test positive for COVID-19 will be granted quarantine leave, its telco unit PLDT said Tuesday.
The announcement came as Manny V. Pangilinan or MVP opened a quarantine facility in Antipolo, Rizal for workers of the conglomerate with asymptomatic to mild cases of COVID-19. He chairs the Metro Pacific conglomerate that includes PLDT, Meralco, Maynilad, Light Rail Manila and Metro Pacific Tollways that operates NLEX, SCTEX and CAVITEX among others.
"Employees who test positive for COVID-19 will be given Quarantine Leave, separate from standard Sick Leave credits," PLDT said in a statement.

The quarantine facility will house a total of 240 individual air-conditioned quarantine tents and beds, PLDT said. Employees who need to quarantine in the facility will be provided with "optimal care" including meals, medical supplies, and phone and data connectivity, it added.
“The essential services – connectivity, power, water, road networks, among others -- we have continuously provided since the onset of the pandemic have been the source of stability for many Filipinos, and it is our employees - the backbone of all our Companies - that have allowed us to be contributors in moving for economic recovery,” Pangilinan said.
The businessman earlier committed to providing COVID-19 vaccines to his employees, qualified dependents, and household members.
