Philippines Logs 14,786 More COVID-19 Infections

As vaccines arrive to boost inoculations.

The Philippines on Saturday logged 14,786 new COVID-19 infections, as the country gets more vaccines to cap a surge driven by the Delta variant.

Active cases now stand at 144,061. There were 894 new recoveries and 164 deaths reported.

Total cumulative cases since the pandemic began is now at 2,580,173, of which 2,397,456 have recovered and 38,656 died.

The Philippines received 889,200 doses of Pfizer vaccines Saturday afternoon, boosting jab supplies. It brought the total COVID-19 vaccine doses delivered to the country to 75,597,140.

On Friday night, additional 883,350 Pfizer shots and 2.5 million procured Sinovac vaccines arrived in Manila.
