Outdoor exercise will be prohibited in Metro Manila for the remainder of the enhanced community quarantine or ECQ, MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos said Monday.

The ECQ in Metro Manila, meant to help control the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant, started on Aug. 6 and is set to end on Aug. 20.

"Nagpasa rin kami ng resolution ngayon lang hapon na ultimo paglabas ng bahay maski exercise bawal na po," Abalos said during  a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte.

"Importante for the next two weeks mapangalagaan ang nasa Metro Manila," he said.

Metro Manila has also enforced an 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew and limited business operations to those offering basic goods and services.
