The Philippines on Sunday logged 3,410 new COVID-19 cases as Metro Manila remained under Alert Level 3 until Nov. 14.

The day's tally brought active cases to 45,233. The Department of Health also reported 5,825 new recoveries and 128 new deaths deaths.

Overall, a total of 2,787,276 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the pandemic began in March 2020, of which 2,698,871 recovered and 43,172 died.

Metro Manila was first placed under Alert Level 3, the third highest under a five-step warning system, last Oct. 16 as the country saw a decline in COVID-19 cases.

Under Alert Level 3, more businesses and activities are allowed to resume such as cinemas, museums, and hotels for staycations.
