Days of monsoon rains caused trash to wash ashore on Manila's artificial white sand beach, prompting a cleanup on Thursday.

Photos showed rubbish and water hyacinth covering parts of the beach, which had been covered in crushed dolomite rocks to make it look like Boracay -- for mental health.

More rains are expected for the rest of the day as slow-moving Typhoon Fabian (In-Fa) hovers off the country's northeastern seaboard, PAGASA said.
