Robinsons Land said it would develop a 216-hectare chunk of Porac, Pampanga into a sustainable, multi-use property called Montclair Destination Estate.

The Gokongwei-led developer said it would transform the ash gray area that was devastated by the Pinatubo eruption in 1991 into "green and blue corridors".

Montclair, a 5-minute car ride from the Clark Freeport Zone, is envisioned to be a mix of commercial areas, residential communities, office buildings, a logistics and industrial hub, hotels and entertainment establishments, and green open spaces.

"This master-planned destination estate is set to become a lush eco-system of an oasis garden in Pampanga," Robinsons Land said in a statement.

Once completed, Montclair's "green and blue corridors" will link open spaces such as central parks and residential clubhouses, creating a series of linear parks and tree-lined avenues.

Residential areas, leisure hubs and business districts will be surrounded by abundant trees, while a central water feature will be built inside the commercial area surrounded by retail and recreational facilities.

Transforming Porac into a living space where families can live comfortably has always been the vision for Montclair, according to Mybelle Aragon-GoBio, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Robinsons Land Integrated Developments.

"The integration of green infrastructure such as tree planting is considered early in the design and planning process. Our intent is to create a cooler, more bio-diverse, and ultimately more resilient urban community in Montclair,” she added.

To achieve this, Robinsons Land will plant six species of trees around Montclair: Banaba, Balayog (Palawan cherry), Fire tree, Narra, Palo Maria, and Talisay.

A tree-planting activity was conducted on July 30 where around 100 Robinsons Land employees participated as part of the company's sustainability program. Some 1,200 trees were also turned over to the municipality of Porac.

Apart from the interconnections within the community, roads, ramps and bridges as well as its very own Montclair Interchange connecting the estate to SCTEX will also be operational soon to make it more accessible to other areas.
