Senate President Vicente Sotto III said Thursday the chamber rolled out its vaccination program against COVID-19, innoculating 190 employees with their first dose
Health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities working in the chamber were first in line at the start of the rollout last Friday, Sotto told reporters in a video call.
The first 190 Senate employees received China's Sinovac vaccine, but those who will get vaccinated Monday next week will be given Russia's Sputnik V vaccine that the Senate requested.

Sotto said his own vaccination had not been scheduled. Senators earlier said they would prioritize their employees in the vaccination program.
More than 1.7 million Filipinos have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine as of May 4, according to the Department of Health.
