Star City Postpones Reopening as COVID Cases Rise

Star City on Saturday announced that it would postpone its reopening due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.

The amusement park earlier said it would reopen on Jan. 14, more than two years after it was gutted by a huge fire, but it had to be deferred to a later date to prioritize the safety of staff and guests.

The park's management has yet to announce a new reopening date as it apologized to patrons who may be inconvenienced by the decision.

A fire that was blamed on faulty electrical wiring damaged some 80% of Star City in October 2019 and resulted in losses of P1 billion.
