Storm Nanmadol to Miss Landfall in Philippines

It will be named Josie once it enters PH Area of Responsibility.

Tropical storm Nanmadol is forecast to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibilty from the Pacific Ocean this week, though unlikely to hit mainland Luzon, PAGASA said Wednesday.

At 4 a.m., Nanmadol was spotted 1,910 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph winds and 80 kph gusts. It will take the name Josie once inside PAR as early as Thursday night.

Nanmadol was forecast to enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat which will bring rains to the wetern section of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Here's the weather forecast for Wednesday:

Luzon

Palawan and parts of Occidental Mindoro will experience scattered monsoon rains with thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

Visayas and Mindanao

Expect isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
