Unchristian? Bishop Says Roque Should Just Answer Hospitalization Question

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque should have just answered a reporter's question on his hospitalization for COVID instead of dismissing the query as unchristian, Bishop Broderick Pabillo said Tuesday.

Roque was asked how he got a hospital room last weekend when citizens who are more ill with the coronavirus queued up before they were attended to. He said the question was unchristian.

"Ang sa akin, innocent naman yung question, bakit babansagan? Gusto lang masagot siya ng maayos," Pabillo told Teleradyo. "He's a public figure, hindi siya dapat matakot."

Roque's reply to a "legitimate question" was "uncalled for," said Pabillo, a COVID-19 survivor.

"Yun ang problema kapag nagtataanong, sa halip na sagutin ang tanong, ad hominem ang sagot, titirahin ang magtataanong. Hindi naman tama yun," he said.
