GUIDE: How to Get Pet Insurance for Your Dog via GCash

With no competitive universal health care, going to the doctor is expensive for everyone. There are professional fees to pay, hospital admission costs to shoulder and medicines to buy. This is also true for furry companions.

And if you're looking for a convenient way to sign them up for health insurance, you'll be glad to know that GCash, which you're probably already using more than you want to, now features a pet insurance.

How to Get Pet Insurance Through GCash

GCash's Pet Insure (Dog) can be found under the GInsure button of your app. It's also where you can sign up for medical insurance, dengue and COVID-19 health insurance, online shopping insurance, vehicle insurance, and more.

To avail of this pet insurance, the requirements are:

  • Dogs should be between six months to eight years old
  • A home pet
  • Up-to-date with five-in-one and rabies vaccinations, and deworming treatment
  • Undergoing physical examination at least once a year
  • Has no pre-existing medical condition

Their pet insurance covers the following:

  • Medical reimbursement (consultation, tests, scans, surgery, hospitalization, and medication)
  • Cruciate ligament injuries
  • Burial assistance (euthanasia)
  • Owner's liability
  • Personal accident cover

You can choose your coverage level depending on the duration and cost. One-month Pet Insure is at P650; three months for P1,250; six months for P2,400; nine months for P2,850; and P3,200 for one year.

All these come with maximum medical reimbursement of P30,000 per occurrence and P100,000 in aggregate, P15,000 maximum reimbursement for cruciate ligament injuries, P10,000 burial assistance, owner's liability of P50,000 per occurrence and P250,000 in aggregate, and personal accident cover of P50,000 (accidental death), P50,000 (total permanent disability), P50,000 (disablement).
