Large parts of the country will experience rainy weather on Tuesday, PAGASA said, as monitored multiple weather systems including a low pressure area off Mindanao.
The low pressure area was spotted 320 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur before dawn and was moving towards Eastern Visayas. While it has little chance of developing into a tropical storm, it will bring rains to the Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA forecaster Samuel Duran said.
A sheer line, or a narrow corridor in the atmosphere where the wind direction changes, is bringing rains to the Bicol Region, Duran said. Metro Manila will be rainy on Tuesday but the skies will start to clear up from Wednesday, he said.
The Philippines in mid-March declared the start of the dry season, however stretches of rainy weather during this time are still possible. The wet season starts when monsoon winds become dominant, which happens towards the middle of the year.
The first storm of 2022 will be named Agaton, according to PAGASA.
