Ride-hailing app Angkas said Friday it would forgo its commissions from bookings on National Heroes Day so that its riders get to take home full fares in a tribute to the sacrifices of one of the pandemic frontliners.
Angkas said 100% of fares would go to the pockets of its drivers during the Aug. 29 holiday, describing them as "mga bayani" (heroes).
"Maraming salamat. Deserve niyo to," it added.
