The Department of Transportation on Monday extended free train rides in Metro Manila for vaccinated individuals during MECQ to encourage more Filipinos to get jabbed against COVID-19.
The incentive will be extended to so-called APOR or Authorized Persons Outside of Residence, regardless of whether they got just the first dose or the full two doses. It will run until Aug. 31, the last day of the MECQ, the DOTr said.
Here are the times when the free rides are valid per train line.
MRT-3
- 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
LRT-2
- 5 a.m. to 7a.m.
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
According to management advisories, only APORs may ride the train. To avail the free ride, you will need the following:
- Vaccination card
- Valid ID or certificate proving employment
- Certificate of Employment
- company ID
- valid government ID
- Professional Regulation Commission ID
Passengers must wear face mask and face shields at all times and observe social distancing on trains and platforms. Frequent train disinfections will be done. Talking with fellow passengers or on the phone is prohibited.
Eating is also banned.
