More Senators Get COVID: Binay, Ejercito and Villanueva

Seven senators get infected in three weeks.

Three more senators said they tested positive for COVID-19, joining four colleagues in the chamber to catch the disease over a thre-week period.

Senators Joel Villanueva, JV Ejercito, and Nancy Binay released their diagnoses, after Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Imee Marcos,  Cynthia Villar, and Grace Poe.

Villanueva said Thursday he tested positive for the coronavirus as he thanked those who prayed for his recovery. 

Ejercito on Friday said he tested positive for COVID-19 based on an RT-PCR test he took the day before. "No symptoms," he said on Twitter.

Binay told Inquirer.net that she tested positive on an antigen test Thursday night. 

The Senate is currently implementing a three-week "lockdown" for guests starting Aug. 15 to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
