The Pantaleon-Estrella Bridge, which will cut travel time between Mandaluyong and Makati, is set to open to motorists in the last week of July, Public Works Sec. Mark Villar said.
The four-lane bridge is part of the EDSA Decongestion Program and runs for 506.46 lineal meters to connect Estrella Street in Makati City and Barangka Drive on the Mandaluyong side. Dedicated lanes for pedestrians flank the bridge.
In a separate interview, Villar said the P1.46 billion project was backed by a China grant and is expected to divert 9,438 vehicles from EDSA.
Pantaleon-Estrella, along with the recently opened Kalayaan Bridge connecting Bonifacio Global City and Ortigas, is one of the 25 projects geared at decongesting EDSA.
