Fire hit the newly-opened SM Mega Tower in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, the Bureau of Fire Protection said.
Black smoke was seen coming out from the high-rise building at around 10 a.m., according to eyewitnesses.
At 10:26 a.m., BFP-NCR raised the alert to first alarm, the lowest in its warning system.
