TAAL VOLCANO WATCH
- Taal Volcano continues to release high levels of volcanic sulfur dioxide gas and steam-rich plumes as it remains under Alert Level 3.
- By Sunday afternoon, Phivolcs said Taal emitted an “anomalously high” level of volcanic sulfur dioxide gas as the agency advised nearby communities to take precautions.
- Thousands of residents were forced to evacuate after Taal spewed boiling water and magma last week.
- Although volcanoes are hard to predict, their behavior follows a certain pattern, take Taal for example, as a geologist explains.
