Sen. Imee Marcos has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing "raging fever", Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said Monday.
The 66-year-old senator failed to attend Monday's Senate session physically as she wrote to inform Zubiri that she contracted COVID-19.
"Sen. Imee Marcos who, for the record, had written to us that she tested positive for COVID-19, is asking if she still has to go on cam because she has a raging fever," Zubiri said during the plenary session.
"Maybe she can just acknowledge that she is online so that we can mark her as present without having to open cam," she added.
Marcos tested positive for COVID-19 just a few weeks after her brother, President Bongbong Marcos, also caught the coronavirus.
Over the past few days, Marcos had been promoting the film "Maid in Malacañang" which tells her family's perspective on their last hours in the palace before they were forced into exile in 1986.
