Construction on the LRT-2 East Extension which reaches Marikina and Antipolo is right on track ahead of its April opening, photos showed.
D.M. Consuji Inc. architect Vernon John C. Florendo has been posting photos since October 2018 until March 2021 to share the progress on the Emerald and Masinag Stations.
According to Florendo, the stations utilize low-emissivity or Low-E glass that enables it to be more energy-efficient, helping save on cooling costs.
"It has microscopically thin coating that is transparent and reflects heat to minimize the amount of infrared and ultraviolet light that comes through the glass, without minimizing the amount of light that enters the stations," he said in a post.
The new stations will serve commuters travelling between Recto, Manila and Masinag, Antipolo. Travel time between Recto and Masinag will take only 40 minutes.
According to the Department of Transportation, both stations will have a soft opening on Apr. 26 before its official opening to commuters on Apr. 27.
