A magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted Burgos, Surigao del Norte early Tuesday morning, Phivolcs said, warning residents that aftershocks would follow.
The quake struck 68 kilometers east of Burgos, Surigao del Norte at 5:41 a.m. Tuesday. It was downgraded from a magnitude 5.5.
Intensity IV, where vibrations feel like a passing of a truck, was felt in Dapa, Surigao del Norte. Intensity II, where hanging objects swing slightly, was felt in Palo, Leyte.
Instrumental intensities were felt in:
Intensity II - Surigao City; Abuyog, Leyte
Intensity I - Alangalang and Baybay, Leyte; Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental
On Sunday, three earthquakes ranging from magnitude 4.4 to 5.1 also struck Burgos town.
