The MMDA said Thursday it might seek an extension of number coding hours should face-to-face-classes scheduled later this year worsen traffic congestion in the capital.
Number coding, which restricts cars from the road on specific days depending on the last number on their license plates, runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"Siguro titingnan natin mabuti 'yan pagka dumami ang mga behikulo sa ating kalsadahan, idudulog natin 'yan sa Metro Manila Council para i-expand ang ating number coding" MMDA officer-in-charge Baltazar Melgar told TeleRadyo.

The academic year will start on Aug. 22, giving students and schools some two months to ease into five-day in-person classes starting Nov. 2.
To help ease students back to on-site learning, they can ride the trains for free from Aug. 22 until Nov. 4, 2022 under the Libreng Sakay for Students Program, the DOTr earlier said.
