8,615 COVID Cases Logged as Vaccines for Minors Arrive

The Philippines on Tuesday recorded 8,615 additional COVID-19 infections as the country received doses for use on minors.

The day's tally brought total active cases to 82,228. The Department of Health also reported 25,146 new recoveries and 236 deaths.

Cumulative cases since the panedemic began is now at 2,683,372, of which 2,561,248 have recovered and 39,896 died.

Metro Manila has three days left under Alert Level 4. Authoritites are looking to ease more restrictions on businesses and movement as cases decline daily.

Pfizer doses meant for 12 to 17 year olds arrived late Monday night. Minors with underlying conditions will be prioritized, according to the DOH.
