10,670 COVID Cases Tallied as Technical Errors Persist

Additional deaths to follow in separate advisories.

The Department of Health on Friday reported logged 10,670 new COVID-19 cases as its counting system continued to face technical errors.

Active cases now stand at 118,203, with 7,691 new recoveries and 191 deaths logged.

Total cumulative cases since the pandemic began is now at 2,643,494, of which 2,486,059 have recovered and 39,937 have died.

In a separate advisory released earlier Friday, the DOH logged 104 additional deaths from Oct. 5 and 6.

Alert Level 4 with eased restrictions in the capital region is expected to last until Oct. 15. Granular lockdowns will still be implemented in barangays or streets, depending on the city mayor's orders.

Vaccinations for those aged 15 to 17 years old is set to start next week. Minors with comorbidities will be prioritized.
