It was Dr. Tricia Robredo all along, swabbing Malabon residents in her mother, Vice President Leni Robredo's COVID-19 testing caravan, according to the mayor.
Mayor LenLen Oreta said Tricia, a newly-licensed physician, was part of the Office of the Vice President's Swab Cab. Tricia was wearing full PPE like the other medical workers and was unrecognizable.
The vice president posted the same photo set on her Twitter page, but did not mention Tricia in the caption.
"Dra. Tricia, Maraming Salamat sa iyong efforts, ngunit more than the number of Antigen Tests you conducted today, we are more thankful for the inspiration your family provides. For us to overcome this pandemic we all have to do our part. Caring for others is another form of cure," Oreta said.
Robredo is offering free antigen swab testing to indigents as some 24 million people in Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan were again placed on lockdown or ECQ. A dangerous surge in infections has pushed the country's total COVID-19 cases past the 800,000-mark.
She has largely ignored potshots from an interior official who tried to revive the lugaw joke against her, adding she was non-essential during the pandemic.
