Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday urged her fellow Liberal Party members to keep going, notwithstanding the pandemic and many other challenges, and as the 2022 elections loomed.
Robredo spoke on the 75th anniversary of the LP, one of the Philippines' oldest political parties. The party has declined in numbers since former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III stepped down in 2016, giving way to the incumbent, President Rodrigo Duterte.
"Tuloy lang, ibig sabihin: Persist. Tuloy lang sa paninindigan, tuloy lang sa
pagpapalawak ng saklaw ng malasakit, huwag panghihinaan ng loob," said Robredo, who chairs the LP.

"The attacks might continue, the threats might become even more forbidable, but we must find strength in the fact that our every effort takes us a step closer to our vision: Isang
lipunan ng kalayaan at katarungan, kung saan nakikipagbayanihan ang bawat isa
para isulong ang kapakanan ng lahat," she said.
While solidfying the party's support base, Robredo reminded LP members to continue practicing pandemic protocols.
"Diinan lang natin ang ganitong gawain, pero paalala ko lang. Hindi pa tapos ang pandemya, kaya siguruhin na mag-iingat sa mga activities at susunod tayo lagi sa mga safety protocols," she said.
