More areas will be under a stricter modified enhanced community quarantine or MECQ from June 16 to 30 as the government seeks to control spikes in COVID-19 cases in different provinces.

And with the quick-changing community quarantines, many may have forgotten the rules under MECQ--the second strictest quarantine level in the country.

Here are the restrictions and rules you need to know for MECQ from June 16 to 30 according to Malacañang:

Movement

Just like in ECQ, strict home quarantine is still a must for all households. Authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) however are allowed to leave their homes for work and to buy essentials.

Age-based restrictions

Only those aged 18 up to 65 are allowed to go out of their homes.

Gatherings

Religious gatherings such as masses are allowed at up to 10% capacity of the venue and can be increased to 30% depending on the LGU covering the area.

Food and dining

Outdoor or alfresco dining is allowed under MECQ at 50% capacity but indoor dine-in remains prohibited. Local government units sometimes revise this general guidance so it's best to always check.
