The Supreme Court on Monday moved the application deadline for the 2022 Bar Examinations to Aug. 15 to give examinees more time to process their requirements, citing the differences in academic calendars of law schools in the country.
In its latest Bar bulletin, the high court said it was informed that some law schools will close their academic year later than others and later than the deadline of the original application period on July 15.
"In order to give all interested law graduates ample time to prepare and submit their documentary requirements, while still ensuring that the different offices of the Supreme Court will have enough time to process and verify the adequacy of the applications to be received, the application period is hereby extended to August 15, 2022," the bulletin read.
This year's Bar Exams will revert to the traditional four-day schedule and will cover the usual core subjects as COVID-19 restrictions are eased, the Supreme Court previously announced.
The exam will now cover the following core subjects: political and international law, labor law, criminal law, commercial law, civil law, and remedial law.
The Supreme Court is reverting to the traditional schedule and coverage of the Bar Exams after it shortened the 2020/21 Bar Exams to two days and reduced its coverage considering the COVID-19 surge at that time.
