Voter registration in the Greater Manila Area will resume on Monday, May 17, the Commission on Elections said Friday.

Filipinos in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal can register for the 2022 national elections from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said.

"GCQ na po ang NCR Plus so voter registration will resume starting Monday," Jimenez told reporters.

Voter registration was earlier suspended in the Greater Manila Area due to the implementation of the strict enhanced community quarantine in April.

From May 15 to 31, the Greater Manila Area will be under GCQ with "heightened restrictions," one notch lower from MECQ.
