- President Rodrigo Duterte said he doesn’t see anyone ‘deserving’ to succeed him in 2022. He also told his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, not to run for president.
- Sen. Imee Marcos credited “open-minded” millennials for her family’s political revival and said brother Bongbong would definitely run next year.
- Sen. Panfilo Lacson said he declined an offer from the opposition coalition 1Sambayan to be one of its nominees for president in the 2022 elections.
- Duterte’s PDP-Laban party has yet to pick a standard-bearer as some sectors in the group call on the president to run for vice president next year.
