Former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada was returned to intensive care, this time, for a lung infection, his eldest son said Friday.
The 83-year-old Estrada was back in non-COVID-ICU for "monitoring and support of his blood pressure which fluctuated" due to the infection, his son, former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada said.
"We wish to announce that my father had a slight setback last night as his doctors found a super imposed bacterial lung infection," the younger Estrada said.
"But overall, he is stable with high flow oxygen support," he added.
Estrada, who will turn 84 on April 19, was earlier intubated due to his COVID pneumonia.
It was only on Wednesday that his son announced the former president's transfer to a regular hospital room.
