Vice President Leni Robredo lunched on spicy lugaw with a side of crispy pork while volunteering for a COVID teleconsult hotline on Wednesday, turning an insult from her critics into fuel for her work.
The project, Bayanihan e-Konsulta, is a free service that seeks to help ease the train on hospitals as infections surge. Robredo's office is also providing free antigen tests to Metro Manila communities.
Robredo did not directly reply to an interior official who called her "lugaw" and "non-essential" for criticizing the government's pandemic response.
