6,943 COVID Cases Tallied as Restrictions Ease in Metro Manila

The Philippines on Monday tallied 6,943 new COVID-19 cases as quarantine restrictions in Metro Manila eased under Alert Level 3.

The day's tally brought active cases to 68,832. A total of 19,687 new recoveries and 86 new deaths were also reported.

Cumulative cases since the pandemic began is now at 2,727,286. Total recoveries and deaths are now at 2,617,793 and 40,761 respectively.

Alert Level 3 in Metro Manila is expected to last until the end of October. Under this quarantine, more establishments can operate at 30% indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals and 50% outdoor venue capacity regardless of vaccination individuals.

Going to cinemas and for staycations are also permitted under Alert Level 3, subject to safety standards and health protocols.

More kids aged 12 to 17 years old are set to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
