Taal Volcano on Thursday belched more steam in another phreatomagmatic "burst" that was driven by water interacting with magma near its crater, Phivolcs said.
The short-lived eruption happened at 10:39 a.m. according to Phivolcs.
Earlier in the day, Phivolcs said Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 3 which signifies "intensified unrest" and comes before Level 4, or an imminent eruption, and Level 5 which means an eruption is in progress.
It also warned against possible sudden explosive eruption, ashfall, and volcanic tsunami.
Phivolcs has prohibited entry into the Taal Volcano Island, and the towns of Agoncillo and Batangas. All fishing activities in Taal Lake are prohibited.
Since the short-lived eruption of Taal Volcano on Saturday, some 5,000 residents in surrounding communities have evacuated.
