(SPOT.ph) The COVID-19 pandemic, which started in the first quarter of 2020, posed many challenges in the economy. A few establishments closed down, companies declared bankruptcy, and others started retrenching employees just to keep their business afloat. But online job portal JobStreet revealed that some industries are already actively hiring to start fresh in the new year.

"In the past year, the total jobs in the market declined by 30% versus 2019, but JobStreet is hopeful that the job market will continue to recover, as companies are gradually hiring applicants," shared JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca in a statement.
